As anArea Sales Manager (ASM) you will be responsible for leading,developing, and managing a diverse, high performing sales team toachieve sales goals for promoted products within our psychiatryportfolio. Set and lead the development of area strategic directionand tactical sales plans using robust analytical skills to identifystrengths and opportunities, while minimizing weaknesses andthreats to execute those plans and meet or exceed sales goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leading People Achieves business objectivesand sales results by observing Account Manager interactions withtarget customers, extended treatment team members, ancillary staffand providing them with individual coaching, feedback andinspiration. Helps Account Manager continue to develop for successin current role and for future growth. Establishes a result drivenhighly collaborative team culture by demonstrating personalaccountability, teamwork, and collaboration Leads by example andworks collaboratively across functional areas by serving as aresource and by leveraging the expertise of others. Recruits,develops, and retains diverse, high performing Account Managers toLundbeck. Knowing the Business Guides the identification of localmarket systems of care, patient flow, reimbursement, and providesinnovation solutions Identifies strategic relationships that arevaluable to the area’s business (e.g. KOLs, advocacy, P&Tcommittee, etc.) Actively seeks to discover and meet the needs ofinternal and external customers by building relationships anddelivering innovative solutions. Ensures that Account Managers canaccurately craft Managed Markets selling messages to effectivelyposition Lundbeck’s products within the context of the provider’ssetting and payer mix. Managing Execution Sets and maintainscompetent product knowledge and selling skills standards within theteam. Directs and monitors the execution of approved marketingplans and promotion campaigns. Evaluate and identify improvementand development opportunities of account managers throughperformance management process to include clear, timely, andactionable feedback on a regular basis. Facilitates local marketexecution by aligning the sales force and other cross-functionalareas (to include alliance partners), persuading, convincing, ormotivating a targeted audience through collaboration and direct orindirect influence. Analyzes sales reports and develops plan ofaction. Maintains timely communication with account managers,management and in-house personnel. Manages multiple priorities andresources related to individual and group efforts. Takesresponsibility for redirecting efforts as needed to deliver highproductivity and quality of work from self and others. Assuresadherence to all standards, policies, procedures and guidelines asset forth by the organization.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE andSKILLS:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from anaccredited college or university
External Candidates:
Minimum of 3years sales management experience in Pharmaceutical,Biopharmaceutical’s, Biologics or related experience. InternalCandidates must have a minimum of 1 year of Commercial experiencein areas such as: Sales Management, Training, Market Access, SalesOperations, or Marketing or a minimum of 2 years consistent salessuccess within Lundbeck Documented track record of sales successand financial management. Demonstrated leadership with the abilityto develop, train and provide feedback to a group of accountmanagers. Must possess superior communication skills, both writtenand oral. Driving is an essential duty of this job; must have avalid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meetscompany requirements Meeting and complying with reasonableindustry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcareproviders / customer facilities is required for continuedemployment with Lundbeck. Must live within 100 miles of territoryboundaries
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Previous CNSsales management experience Previous sales management experienceand/or experience in other areas of the business; i.e., marketing,sales training, managed care account manager, sales operations,account management is a plus. Previous sales management experiencein hospital, IDN and/or other institutional settings Documentedsuccessful sales management performance including national salesawards Previous experience in Injectable/Infusion and/or Buy andBill products Previous experience working with alliance partners(i.e. co-promotions) Previous experience partnering with Advocacygroups Previous experience building and developing effective teamsExperience in product launch or expansion within sales
TRAVEL:
Willingness/Ability to travel up to 70% domestically to (a)regularly meet/interact with customer base and internal personnelwithin assigned territory; and (b) attend internal/externalconferences and meetings spanning locations within the UnitedStates. Travel must be able to be completed in a timely manner. Therange displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role,may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’sgeographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, andproficiency for the role.
Salary Pay Range:
$170,000 – $195,000 andeligibility for a sales incentive target of $49,500, andeligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentiveplan.
