The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible foridentifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunitieswithin the defense sector, focusing on machined components. Thisrole requires a strategic thinker with deep industry experience,strong relationships within DoD and major defense contractors(e.g., Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, GeneralDynamics), and a proven track record in sales and account growth.

Client Details Our client is a PE-backed leading manufacturer ofprecision-machined components, and quality steelmaking tools,serving a wide range of industries with a core focus on aerospaceand defense. Their mission is to deliver high-quality,mission-critical components that meet the rigorous demands of ourclients in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Tier 1 defensecontractors. Description Develop and execute strategic sales plansto grow market share in the defense sector. Identify and qualifynew opportunities through market research, networking, andrelationship building. Manage the end-to-end business developmentprocess, from prospecting through proposal and contractnegotiations. Build and maintain strong relationships with keystakeholders at DoD, OEMs, and Tier 1 defense contractors.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams toensure technical alignment with customer requirements. Representthe company at industry trade shows, conferences, and customermeetings. Stay current with industry trends, government procurementprograms, and regulatory changes impacting the defense sector. Meetand exceed sales targets, reporting regularly on pipelinedevelopment and forecasts. Profile Bachelor’s degree in Business,Engineering, or related field (MBA or technical master’spreferred). 10 years of experience in business development, sales,product management within the defense and aerospace industry. Deepknowledge of machined components and an understanding ofmanufacturing processes, tolerances, and quality standards.

Established relationships with DoD procurement officials and/ordefense primes. Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and otherdefense contracting regulations. Excellent communication,negotiation, and presentation skills. Willingness to traveldomestically as needed (up to 30-50%). Experience working withCNC/machining companies or a strong understanding of subtractivemanufacturing. Previous involvement in long-cycle defenseprocurement and government contracting.
