The Business Development Director is responsible for hospitalinpatient and outpatient census in the IRF and/or LTCH and mixthrough the design and implementation of referral programs andcustomer service strategies. This position oversees inpatientadmission process. The Business Development Director manages,trains and develops hospital-wide Business Development Team andserves in a Senior Leadership role. The Business DevelopmentDirector is responsible in creating an environment and culture thatenables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceedingits goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holdingstaff accountable for performance, motivating staff to improveperformance and being responsible for the operation of thedepartment, measurement, assessment and continuous improvement ofthe departments performance. The Business Development Directorcreates an environment and culture that enables the hospital tofulfill its mission by providing patient safety andpatient-centered treatment.

Qualifications License orCertification:
  • Drivers license and acceptable driving recordaccording to company policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2years experience as a marketing representative, or nurse liaison ina healthcare environment.
  • Bachelors degree in related areapreferred.
  • Successful track record in leading, managing or directsales and marketing, preferably in healthcare environment.
  • Physician relations, Case manager, Managed care, knowledge of localhealthcare market preferred.
Machines, Equipment Used:
  • Generaloffice equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/faxmachine, calculator, scanner, etc.
  • Microsoft Office software, toinclude Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Goodvisual acuity and ability to communicate.
  • Ability to lift andpush/pull a minimum of 40 pounds.

Reasonable assistance may berequested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertakenwhich exceeds these minimum requirements.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Oral communication, written communication, active listening. Mustbe able to speak and understand English.
  • Information ordering,deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness, time management,critical thinking.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, makedecisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.

  • Indoor, temperature controlled,smoke-free environment.
  • Handicapped accessible.
  • May work understressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or ProductivityStandards:
  • Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance andpunctuality.
  • Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge.
  • Adheres to Standards of Business Conduct.
  • May be required to workweekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed tomeet deadlines.
  • May be required to work on religious and/or legalholidays on scheduled days/shifts.
  • May be required to performother duties as assigned by supervisor.
