$58,141.44•$75,583.87 The Conventions Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting business for the Bradenton Area Convention Center (BACC) and in the destination in accordance with the BACC sales and marketing plan. The Conventions Sales Manager will be responsible for implementation and management of assigned territories in all segments: corporate, association, third party, and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal). The Manager will coordinate/communicate with the entire Bradenton Area Convention staff and sales team to ensure proper servicing of newly procured business. Job Description Essential Functions

Develop and implement effective sales strategies for convention and conference business for the Convention Center and throughout the destination. Work with BACVB team members to achieve measurable sales goals and strategies. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned market territories and sales segments. Negotiate and close agreements with large customers. Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts. Liaise with BACVB marketing department to ensure brand consistency. Provide onsite leadership and support to clients, suppliers, and facilities to ensure all functions or programs occur as planned while monitoring service levels. Contribute to the development and implementation of a yearly action plan. At times, represent and promote the BACVB at industry events and tradeshows. Prepares and submits proposals and contracts; enters client information into a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM). Maintain active and accurate account information in CRM. Participate in local/national industry organizations, panels and presentations promoting the services and capabilities of the BACC. Read trade magazines and other publications to stay abreast of the current industry trends. Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required. Area of Assignment•Sports Assists with development of the BACVB sports tourism sales program by targeting sporting organizers and working with Manatee County Sports Venues. Assists the PR and marketing team on meeting collateral, web, and advertising. Coordinates and tracks shipping of all collateral material for BACVB for sports and destination sales. Works closely with the sports tourism entity of Visit Sarasota CVB on regional sporting events and with the Florida Sports Foundation. Represents BACVB at sports trade shows and networking organizations to increase sales capability of the venues and destination. Works with public relations team members on social media and marketing strategies. Coordinates Familiarization trips (FAMS). Monitors and maintains third party web site such as Play Easy to ensure information is updated properly. Helps prepare required reports for BACVB and Tourist Development Council and abides by annual sports marketing budget and business plan. Minimum Qualifications Minimum four (4) years of experience in meeting/event planning or hotel sales (including incentives, association business, corporation business). Experience managing a high-performance sales territory with a proven track record. Prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client relationships. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. More Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Hospitality, Marketing, Event Management, or related field preferred. Conventions/conferences sales experience desired. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics and budgets. Solid customer service skills and positive attitude with excellent negotiation skills. Availability to travel, as required. Professional oral presentation and writing skills required. Strong understanding of meetings and group sales in the travel and trade industry. Competency to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, set priorities, and achieve results. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment with exceptional attention to detail.
