Position Overview:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, building, overseeing and guiding a team of Account Managers (Inside Sales Team), each responsible for managing and developing their own territory to support the overall sales growth of the company. This leadership role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on sales management to ensure the achievement of revenue targets, sales quotas, long-term client relationships, and the continued expansion of our market presence. As a key member of the sales leadership team, the Sales Manager will lead by example, train sales team, develop account managers, provide mentorship, and ensure the development of effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets, strengthen customer relationships, and expand our portfolio of contract manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, train, mentor, and support a team of Account Managers in the development and execution of their sales strategies, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Manage sales quotas and conduct meetings with Sales Team on how to achieve sales targets. Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and guidance to help Account Managers build their territories and achieve sales targets. Foster a high-performance sales culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and performance achievement.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share within existing and new customer accounts. Monitor and analyze sales metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet both short- and long-term revenue goals. Identify new business opportunities and work closely with the leadership team to explore major account or large account management.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and decision-makers in the OEM manufacturing space. Ensure that Account Managers provide exceptional service and support to clients, resolving any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner. Act as a liaison between clients and internal sales teams to ensure retention and expansion.
Business Development & Growth:
Identify and target new business opportunities in key commercial sectors. Oversee the development and execution of major account proposals, presentations, and price/contract negotiations. Lead the sales team in acquiring large-scale major accounts or contracts and securing repeat business.
Reporting & Forecasting:
Conduct internal weekly sales forecast and pipeline meetings with your sales team. Prepare regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic updates for the Executive Team.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the marketing, operations, and production management teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to production execution. Collaborate with other departments to ensure sales initiatives align with the company’s overall goals and capabilities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
At least 7-10 years of inside sales experience in closing role, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a sales leadership role. Experience in OEM, CNC, Contract Manufacturing knowledge, Fabrication, Industrial or related industries is highly preferred. Proven track record of developing, training, managing and mentoring sales teams, as well as achieving sales targets in a competitive environment. Proficiency in programs such as
Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, Zoom/WebEx/GoToMeeting Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to develop, build & inspire a sales team. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization. Highly organized with strong time management and project management skills. Proficient in CRM software, sales analytics, and reporting tools. Results-driven with a focus on both individual and team sales goals.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial, Marketing BBA/MBA, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience can be considered.
Expected Compensation:
Base Salary of $ 55,000 – $ 75,000 annually and commissions structure of $ 50,000 annually. Anticipated Total compensation range from $ 105,000 to $ 125,000 at target.
