OverviewAIT is seekinga Director of Sales, Marine Logistics. The ideal candidate willexhibit a strategic, customer-oriented, multi-national focus onseeking new marine logistics opportunities. This role will beresponsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan,personally leading prospecting efforts and closing new businessopportunities. This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurialsales professional with a deep understanding of logistics services,particularly in the marine sector, and a track record of success inconsultative selling.
Responsibilities Participates with senior managers, executives and staff toestablish corporate strategic sales plans, goals and objectives toachieve revenue targets in North America’s marine logisticsmarket. Identify, target and prospect new business opportunities withkey players in the marine industry, including shipping companiesand vessel operators. Deeper selling into existing accounts, withthe goal of growth and achieving satisfaction with existingcustomers. Lead and execute on the development of account plan(s)including relationship building, overall account strategy andbudgeting/targeting business growth and developmentopportunities. Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing,ensuring seamless contract negotiation and onboarding. Negotiatepricing, terms and service agreements to meet client needs whilemaintaining profitability. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts in theregion, ensuring a high-level of client satisfaction. Regularly report on sales performance, pipeline status and keybusiness metrics. Utilize data-driven insights to adjust strategiesand tactics for continuous improvement. Ability to recruit, train and develop a motivated and drivenhigh-performance team. Work to promote the AIT culture, values, teamwork, and ethicswhile striving for high performance and providing a world-classexperience for our customers. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. The wage range for this position is $175,000 – $250,000annually and may vary based on geography as well as relativeknowledge, skills, abilities, andexperience.
QualificationsEducation High School Degree or GED (Required) Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in businessadministration, marketing, sales or a related field.(Preferred)Experience 10+ years working in a multi/national focused, fast-paced andhigh-volume environment with a focus on marine logistics services.(Required) 10+ years relationship management experience (Preferred) 10+ years proven track record of selling supply chain servicesdomestically and internationally across all modes within the marinelogistics sector. (Required)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven track record in generating profitable revenue growth andretaining existing customers. (High) Ability to lead strategy for international and domestic RFQs,including customs brokerage and compliant services. (High) Skilled at business planning and diligent at measuring andcommunicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks,while being solution-oriented. (High) Excellent written and oral communication skills, with theability to make concise and compelling presentations. (High) Strong computer skills. (High)What AIT Can Offer YouIn additionto your base compensation, you may be eligible for commissions ofup to 6% based on specific sales goals and objectives (depending onyour position), as well as an additional 1% of all vertical salescommissions and participation in the sales profit share plan.
