Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Regional Development Director for our client, an incredible humanitarian nonprofit organization in Central Florida! This exceptional entrepreneurial leadership role offers the rare opportunity to build a brand-new regional presence from the ground up, spanning the dynamic Central Florida region from Naples to north of Tampa. This is a full-time, remote position for immediate hire that combines strategic vision with hands-on execution!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Build comprehensive regional operations from inception, including campaign planning, donor portfolio development, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement across the expansive Central Florida territory
Design and implement donor research strategies and comprehensive stewardship programs tailored to regional demographics and philanthropic landscape
Create and execute strategic fundraising initiatives targeting individual donors, foundation prospects, and planned giving opportunities
Establish and nurture relationships with community leaders and potential board members to build sustainable volunteer leadership infrastructure
Travel extensively throughout the region to meet with donors, prospects, and community stakeholders
Develop and maintain approximately 100-150 significant donor relationships with strategic giving capacity
Cultivate and maintain approximately 150-250 additional donor relationships across various giving levels
Lead major gift cultivation and solicitation efforts for donors contributing $5,000 and above
Drive new donor acquisition focusing on individuals with $2,000+ annual giving potential

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution required
5+ years of progressive experience in revenue generation, sales, or philanthropic development
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with proven ability to build programs, campaigns, or initiatives from startup phase
Exceptional relationship-building skills with natural warmth, enthusiasm, and ability to inspire confidence
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and CRM database management; Raiser’s Edge experience highly preferred
Strategic thinking capabilities with hands-on execution abilities
Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while building organizational infrastructure
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Central Florida region
Flexibility for evening and weekend programming as chapter develops
Understanding of Florida community dynamics and philanthropic landscape preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
