Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives and drive strategic partnerships. This role requires a visionary leader who can identify market opportunities, enhance customer relationships, and implement effective business strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and demonstrate exceptional negotiation and project management skills. Essential Functions Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives. Identify and analyze market trends to uncover new business opportunities and potential partnerships. Respond to marketing generated inquiries and independently conduct research to identify, target, and track FDA regulated businesses, particularly pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology manufacturers for potential new business opportunities. Work with the Sr VP of Business Development Director and Consultants to mine information about client needs for additional services during and after contracted projects. Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and investigate new or additional business opportunities. Lead negotiations with key stakeholders to secure contracts and agreements that align with company goals. Develop contracts for presentation to clients, address issues, and close complex sales. Follow-up on sales opportunities to drive execution of contractual documents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product offerings based on market demands and customer feedback. Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring all initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively. Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to promote brand loyalty and retention. Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Experience Bachelor’s degree or 10 years equivalent industry experience Proven experience in business development or sales leadership roles, preferably within the consulting Life Science industry. Ability to travel up to 50% Proven track-record of delivering $3-10 million in recent sales revenue per annum with demonstrated year-on-year growth in revenue Experience selling high end, project-based professional services and/or recurring revenue-based managed services, characterized by long sales cycles and both large and small dollar transactions Strong understanding of strategic planning processes and market analysis techniques. 5+ years of experience as a named account executive and/or business development manager. Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-stakes contracts successfully. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
