Business Development Leader 25-00160 Cornerstone Recruiting Florida Business Development Leader Southeast Region (Traveling) A successful Electrical Contractor based out of Florida is actively searching for a results-driven Business Development Leader to spearhead their Client team. This individual will play a critical role in expanding our client base, strengthening relationships, and driving growth across the Southeastern U.S. market. This involves developing lasting partnerships, uncovering opportunities, and providing the company choices of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that align with company goals in target markets across the Southeast. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, engineering firms, and other industry stakeholders. Lead the front-end of the business development process — from early engagement and prequalification through proposal and contract award. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform strategic pursuits and maintain a competitive edge. Partner with internal estimating, operations, and executive teams to align project pursuits with company capacity, capabilities, and growth strategy. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, association meetings, and client functions to enhance market visibility and reputation.
Qualifications:
10+ years of successful business development experience in the construction, electrical contracting, or related industries. Deep knowledge of the Southeastern U.S. construction market and established relationships within the region preferred. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities — able to engage and influence at all levels. Self-starter with the discipline to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to travel regionally as required.
