Job purpose The primary responsibility of the Eastern Regional Sales Director (RSD) is to develop creative and influential sales strategies (pricing, promotion, assortment and shelving proposals) with both brokers and accounts that are aligned with the company’s strategic initiatives and that optimize the regions volume, profit and distribution.

Main Responsibilities Sales Plan Development:

Develops and executes the annual regional sales plan for each business segment on a fiscal year basis to meet/exceed volume and profit goals. Has a thorough understanding of the retailer landscape in the region and competitive conditions.

Broker Management:

Establishes and maintains dialogue with broker Account Executives and Senior Management to develop mutually agreed upon performance objectives. Reviews and updates broker performance in the areas of distribution, merchandising, space management and retail pricing to ensure Idahoan is meeting volume and profit goals. Facilitates changes as required at the broker level to ensure Idahoan has the top brokers and business managers available in the market. Develops effective working relationships at all levels.

Product Development:

Recommends new product concepts and merchandising vehicles to Idahoan Marketing that differentiates our company and adds value to our business partners.

Personal Development:

Develops effective management skills relative to planning, decision-making, leadership, and goal setting. Develops, expands and exercises effective training and negotiation skills.

Category Leadership:

Provides effective and consistent category leadership to our broker partners that translates into successful sales results. Ensures that our retail partners are provided with effective and relevant category insights and growth strategies to develop our mutual business. Qualifications/Required Skills Education and/or

Experience:

A degree from an accredited college/university plus 8-10 years experience in the grocery industry.

Language Skills:

Exhibits effective written and verbal communication skills and possesses the ability to use language in a motivational manner.

Computer Skills:

Proficient is using Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to organize and analyze the available data and make tough, informed win/win decisions in a timely manner. Demonstrates the self-confidence and maturity to make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction. Organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

Interpersonal Skills:

Team player, flexible and accepts changing assignments and accountabilities.

Other Details Work Environment:

This position works primarily out of a home office but requires extensive travel to work with and train brokers, check retail market conditions and make major account calls.
