SummaryThe Director Business Development (DBD)is responsible for leading the pursuit of new business andexpansion/renewal business as applicable. A successful DBD willcoordinate the complete sales cycle process including leadgeneration, prospect qualification, and leading thecross-functional pursuit team by providing clear direction on dealstrategy: pricing, service, value proposition, and presentationmessage and medium. The focus for this position is on new salescontracts, team selling, and solution selling. The individual willbe issued a sales quota, for which they will be heldresponsible.
Essential Functions Lead deal pursuit. Create deal and pricing strategy. Proposalplan of attack. Prospect new brands and develop industry network tobuild pipeline. Explore cross-sell opportunities where applicable.
Negotiate contracts and close deals. Continued commercial support on accounts closed by DBD. Explorecross-selling opportunities for existing clients. Further education on vertical for consultativeselling.
Additional Responsibilities Frequent collaborative selling is expected and required as partof this role. DBD is expected to work with other SCS and DTS teammembers to win collective business for Ryder as a whole. Adhere to Ryder’s Policies and Procedures including Travel andExpense Policy. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, orrelated field, Required. Master’s degree in business administration, Preferred. 5 years or more in selling supply chain solutions and/orachieve quota attainment more than 3 times within a 60-monthperiod, Preferred. 5 years or more in sales experience: 3 years at quota and 2years at 75% of quota, Preferred. Non-Commercial Driver License CLASS E, Required.
