Job Description:
As a Stateand Local Tax Director specializing in sales and use tax, you willplay a key leadership role in guiding and growing the SALTpractice. You will be responsible for delivering high-leveltechnical expertise, strategic planning, and client serviceexcellence across a diverse portfolio. This includes managingcomplex tax engagements, leading business development efforts, andserving as a trusted advisor to clients on state and local taxissues.
You will oversee the execution of services including taxplanning, compliance, due diligence, refund studies, audit defense,and tax controversy matters. As a senior leader, you will providementorship and guidance to managers and staff, contribute tothought leadership, and represent the firm at industry events.

Qualifications:
BS in Accounting required, master’s in taxation or LLM is aplus CPA, JD/LLM, or CMI required 10+ years of state and local tax experience, with a focus onsales and use tax, preferably in public accounting or a consultingenvironment Proven experience managing complex engagements and deliveringhigh-quality client service Strong technical research, analytical, and communicationskills Demonstrated leadership experience, including team developmentand mentorship Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborativeenvironmentThis is an excellent opportunity to contribute to thesuccess of the firm. Theapplication deadline for this role is 08/31/2025.The wage range forthis role takes into account the wide range of factors that areconsidered in making compensation decisions including but notlimited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure andcertifications; and other business and organizational needs. Thedisclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicablegeographic differential associated with the location at which theposition may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for anindividual to be hired at or near the top of the range for theirrole and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts andcircumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the currentrange is $185,500.00 – $492,000.00 per year.
