THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Business Development Director to play a key role in our M&A pipeline. You’ll sit at the crossroads of sales and deal execution — nurturing client relationships, managing deal activity, and supporting all stages of the sales cycle. This isn’t just a sales role. You’ll be an embedded member of our core team, working closely with analysts, leadership, and clients on deals. From online lead intake to live negotiations, you’ll help shape and close real transactions. Core Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Strategy Manage a sales pipeline involving 6-9 figure business transactions. Convert inbound leads from STI’s national marketing and niche M&A campaigns Educate business owners on our proprietary evaluation method and suite of M&A services. Coordinate outreach efforts to buyers and sellers using CRM and automation tools. Deal Process & Transaction Coordination Guide clients through our M&A process — from initial call to closing. Draft standard deal documents (NDAs, engagement letters, LOIs) with internal templates. Maintain clear and timely communication between sellers, buyers, and STI analysts. Track deal progress and maintain all related materials in our suite of systems. Lead Management & Reporting Monitor and document all lead activity and communications using CRM. Prepare daily reports and pipeline summaries for the leadership team. Drive follow-ups, reactivation of old leads, and prioritization of active deals. Support print and digital readiness for daily client-facing documentation and internal reviews. Platform & Vendor Collaboration Nurture relationships with key marketing, CRM, and tech platform vendors. Ensure alignment of messaging and systems across outreach, sales, and deal tracking tools. Identify process improvements and tools that enhance productivity and client visibility. You’re a Great Fit If You… Have 3-5 years of experience in high-ticket B2B sales, long sales cycles, M&A, or consultative selling (franchise sales, SaaS, finance, consulting, commercial services, etc.) with a proven track record of earning 6 figure commissions Are confident reading financials, understanding business operations, and speaking the language of entrepreneurs Excel in writing, organization, and communication — documents, updates, follow-ups Are energized by both people and processes — sales meetings, workflows, CRMs, and systems Have excellent memory recall and extreme attention to detail Thrive under meeting deadlines, responsibility and want to be part of a team where your role is mission-critical , not transactional Can juggle multiple deal paths at once while staying sharp on the details Commercial understanding and awareness of business from either running your own business or experience in the M&A industry or by dealing with businesses at an executive level Can travel lightly Bonus Points For Experience with M&A, investment banking or high-end business brokerage Familiarity with CRMs & technology/office tools Exposure to AI tools, automations, and lead gen platforms A personal network within the Greater New Orleans business community Representing STI at events, association meetings, and community functions (locally in New Orleans).
