Job Description How you willcontribute:

Manage the Business Development and Licensing processin Pharmaceutical Sciences including, organizing material forsenior leadership review and endorsement, leading a council ofsenior members in the functions to strategically plan for inboundprograms, manage DD teams and hold teams accountable fordeliverables along the entire BD process. Lead the confidentialreview and CMC due diligence assessment process to evaluatepotential partnering opportunities, including collaborations,platform technologies, preclinical and clinical stage assets, thatare aligned with Takeda’s therapeutic areas and global or regionalbusiness development strategies Manage and communicate complexbusiness development and diligence subject matter focused on CMCassessments related to the opportunity including the development ofa diligence report, risk evaluation and mitigation strategy,governance presentations, and contract review Create and reviseprocesses to ensure high- functioning project management of CMCBusiness Development & Licensing activities. Process improvementsinclude training and developing a network of Pharm Sci subjectmatter experts across all teams, modalities and therapeutic areasto support and lead diligence, partnering,in-licensing/out-licensing, divesting, and

M&AAccountabilities:

Work with partners and lead teams to guide duediligence assessments , efficient decision-making, and completionof transactions promptly. Report on progress and important risks tosenior leadership Form partnerships with the Global and FunctionalBusiness Development Teams to promote prioritized partneringopportunities to non-binding and binding term sheets, agreementnegotiation, and deal execution stages Communicate businessstrategies and capabilities internally and externally, presentsingle and team recommendations and promote collaboration Havebasic knowledge of business development practices, e.g. basicunderstanding of legal frameworks such as CDAs, MTAs, NBTS, andagreements, and understanding of deal frameworks, and financialmodeling Connect unrelated concepts, obtain insights for informingdecision-marking under uncertainty, with limited time, and withimperfect information Lead within area of expertise and help buildinternal know how to establish best practices and standardizedapproach for the execution and delivery of evaluation results whencalled upon for evaluating BD deals and ensuring continuousimprovement in their processes and standards Be a role model forTakeda-ism, the Leadership Behaviors and the 4 commitments (PTRB)in everything that is done.

Technical/Functional Expertise:

Experience in Pharmaceutical CMC Development Experience with thefull drug development process across modalities (biologics, smallmolecule, plasma derived therapy, gene therapy, and cell therapy)Understanding of deal structure; financial input to business casesincluding COGS, CapEx, and Opex estimates Experience managing, andnegotiating contracts agreements Experience in Business developmentin the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industry Commitment tocreating/developing efficient processes and contributing to ahigh-performing team Work collaboratively, has a high degree ofplanning, coordination, and project management skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Base Salary Range:

$174,500.00 – $274,230.00 The estimatedsalary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. Theactual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors,including the qualifications of the individual applicant for theposition, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills,level of education attained, certifications or other professionallicenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/orfrom which they will be performing the job.

The actual base salaryoffered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wagerequirements for the job location. U.S. based employees may beeligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.basedemployees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, visioninsurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term andlong-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuitionreimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays,and well-being benefits, among others.
