About the Department The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS)organization drives the long-term strategic direction of NovoNordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all UScommercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. Themandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinatethe execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainablebusiness model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This departmentserves as the insiders of the US market when informing and helpshaping upstream decisions around future investments and assets.

The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in the hemophilia andgrowth disorders therapeutic areas, new products in the pipeline,and products acquired through business development efforts inexisting and new areas. The STARS team collaborates and partnerswith groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development,innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. We’relooking for individuals who are enterprise thinkers, inclusiveleaders, and strong collaborators, as we embark on shaping ourfuture. The Position This field-based position is responsible forsales of Sogroya and Norditropin to practicing physicians, nurses,hospitals, managed care and other health-related personnel withinan assigned territory. Requires the development of strategicallytargeted, account-specific business plans that reflect an in-depthunderstanding of local, regional and national market forces thatimpact product sales. Within Novo Nordisk (NNI) policy guidelinesprovide the most current information relevant to Norditropinproducts and their approved indication(s) in a manner which ensurestheir appropriate use in optimizing the business potential o theterritory. Relationships Reports to the Regional Director – RareEndocrine. External relationships include those with the following:

Pediatric Endocrinologists, Pediatric Endocrinology Nurses,Specialty Pharmacies, wholesalers/distributors and Patient andProfessional Associations. Internally, this position willcollaborate with STARS Medical Liaisons, and STARS AccountManagers. Essential Functions Attention to detail, thorough, timelyand highly organized. Focused on the prioritie Demonstrates prudentcontrol of field expenses and Company property Maintains records ofsamples in accordance with NNI policy Prepares and submits amonthly report detailing goals and accomplishments Play a role withMarketing in identifying market needs (through internal andexternal customers) to support the development of a revisedFormulary Kit, consistent with AMCP guidelines and NNI policiesSupports the Regional Director – Rare Endocrine in planning andimplementing regional functions/POA meetings which include: productinformation updates and sharing of field intelligence information,actively leads/participates in open presentations and discussionsregarding marketing and/or sales plans Acts as the regionalchampion for the introduction of marketing programs and productlaunches Anticipates potential trends and changes in marketconditions in order to identify broader areas of opportunity (e.g.new indications, support services) for the Company Employsinitiative and creativity to gain access and establish Norditropinas a product of choice for accounts Establishes and broadens NNIawareness as a leader in Growth Hormone Organizes and participatesin meetings, exhibits and conventions to create sales/marketingopportunities and to establish sound business relationships withour customer base Provides comprehensive market/competitiveinformation Serves as a liaison to associations and other customergroups to to enhance the professional ties between NNI and thesegroups Serves in an advisory capacity as it relates to marketingprogram/sales collateral development Achieve or exceed assignedsales objectives through effective utilization of all availableresources, strategies and tactics Collaborates with AccountExecutive colleagues to plan, organize and deliver effective andapproved presentations to achieve product formulary considerationand acceptance Develops and expands relationships with Key OpinionLeaders, Local and national patient and professional associations,and Trade accounts Develops and implements a business plan tocreate a pull-through of Norditropin, consistent with regionalsales and corporate marketing plans Identifies key target accountsincluding leading academic institution practices and privatepractices which treat growth hormone deficient patients Maintains astrong work ethic, working effectively both independently and in ateam/matrix organization Maintains complete and accurate data withrespect to physicians, nurses, managed care and trade accountsthrough the use of a company provided computer and Veeva softwareActivities and actions are consistent with company policiesActivities are consistent with business plans that meet relevantcustomer needs and achieve our business objectives Utilizeseffective planning along with specific, targeted, customer-focusedcall objectives Prioritizes accounts to optimize ROI PhysicalRequirements 50-75% overnight travel required; Driver must maintaina valid driver’s license. Must be in good standing by not exceedingthe Novo Nordisk points threshold assigned based on review of MotorVehicle Records. Qualifications A bachelors degree required Minimumfive (5) years pharmaceutical / healthcare sales (Endocrinology /Growth Disorders product experience preferred) OR a minimum five(5) years relevant experience in endocrinology required ManagedCare selling experience is highly desirable Expert knowledge of thegrowth disorders market preferred Ability to facilitate trust andunderstanding An aptitude for learning and communicating technicaland scientific product and disease management informationDecision-making ability and leadership skills are requiredEnergetic, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated Intermediatecomputer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel) Must be aself-starter and be able to evaluate options, make decisions, andoperate your business activities with minimal supervision Priorcomputer experience using sales data/call reporting softwarepreferred This position is part of a job family. Title and levelwithin the job family are evaluated based on a number of factors,such as years of experience, scope of work, proficiency, andbusiness need. Candidates will be assessed for the most appropriatetitle and level within the job family during the recruitmentprocess. The base range of pay for each title in this job familyare as follows: Rare Endocrine Therapy Manager $ 96,670 to $178,840 Sr Rare Endocrine Therapy Manager $ 116,810 to $ 216,100 Inaddition, this position is eligible for a company bonus based onindividual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-termincentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on theposition’s level or other company factors.
