Job Description The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Account Executives and Account Managers to meet and exceed business objectives. The RSD implements regional strategies for the promoted product line, engaging with customers such as office-based physicians, medical directors, and key medical and nursing personnel. Responsibilities include hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and coaching on account targeting, collaboration, and coverage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, clinics, Key Opinion Leaders, and Academic Medical Centers within the region. Develop detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining clients. Hire, lead, coach, and manage the performance of a team of Account Executives and Account Managers. Implement laboratory services agreements (LSAs) with bill account institutions. Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure attainment of company goals. Identify and develop partnerships with prospective oncology clients. Promote and drive compliance with web-based molecular information tools. Analyze the competitive landscape and provide customer feedback to leadership. Monitor sales performance to ensure objectives are met. Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory, including budgets, travel, and goal setting. Represent the Guardant Health culture externally and internally. Travel frequently (>50%) within the territory as needed.

Qualifications Requirements:

At least 2 years of leadership experience with a proven results record or completion of Leadership Development curriculum. Over 3 years of competitive sales experience in healthcare (diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, etc.) with strong performance history. Experience leading or influencing teams to meet business objectives. Ability to motivate and support a culture of performance, integrity, inclusion, and teamwork. Business analysis, strategic development, and tactical planning skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High confidentiality and professionalism handling sensitive information. Positive attitude and adaptability to organizational growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to develop cross-functional relationships and work independently. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Administrative skills for managing complex environments. Act with integrity, respect, and trust, embodying GHI’s values.

Preferred:

Reside in or within 50 miles of the region. Over 5 years of account management experience in molecular diagnostics with proven performance. Experience working with major cancer centers, oncology GPOs, large health systems, and oncology practices. Ability to coach teams in consultative sales and overcoming objections. Proven negotiation skills at all customer levels, including executives. Understanding of payor and reimbursement environments in oncology and diagnostics. Ability to manage multiple projects independently and proactively. Strong knowledge of market, customer, and product landscape. Experience leading strategic sales account plans. Effective use of Salesforce.com.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or biology preferred. Additional Information The US base salary range is $179,200 to $241,920, excluding benefits, bonuses, commissions, or equity. Salary is determined by location, experience, skills, and education. The role may require lifting office supplies, working in an office environment, and exposure to laboratory hazards.
