POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Sales Operations & Training will lead and optimize our sales operations while developing a world-class training program for our commercial teams. This role is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency, implementing data-driven strategies, and ensuring our sales force is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel. This role will support the commercial launch of our first product in the rare disease space, with a focus on hematology and dermatology. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the Director will ensure our sales team is equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to effectively engage healthcare professionals and drive product adoption.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead activities and services that drive performance, engagement, scale, simplicity and efficiency for customer facing sales team. Liaise with Commercial operations to drive visibility to national, regional and territory performance indicators & drives actions that accelerate business performance. Spearheading re-alignment optimization cycle in partnership with Commercial Operations and proactively drives management of territory health. Serves as a key advisor to Sales leadership in organizing POA meetings, Business reviews and field communications. Advise sales leadership on best practices and proactively removes barriers to execution. Ensure promotional strategies translate into seamless execution resulting in increased profitability through effective allocation of resources. Serve as a champion of the sales team in the home office & ensure readiness & continuous improvement of sales enablement tools. Design and implement a robust sales training curriculum encompassing disease state education, product knowledge, competitive intelligence, and advanced selling techniques. Oversee the onboarding process for new sales hires, ensuring a swift and effective integration into the team with a strong foundation in therapeutic areas and product offerings. Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to develop and deliver training materials that align with the company’s go-to-market strategy. Lead both in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring consistent messaging and skill development across all regions. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of training programs and refine them based on feedback and performance data. Develop and maintain a continuous learning framework, including virtual and live training sessions, sales meetings, and field coaching support to reinforce knowledge post-launch. Ensure all training materials and programs comply with legal, regulatory, and medical requirements, while maintaining proper documentation and records.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sales training within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in rare diseases is required, with a preference for expertise in hematology and dermatology. Proven track record in designing, developing, and delivering effective training programs across multiple learning platforms (e.g., workshops, virtual sessions, e-learning). Strong experience in Vendor and Budget management. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and engage diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven decisions. Familiarity with Sales Execution tools. Prior sales or sales leadership experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), sales enablement tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
