DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities VP- Strategic Accounts:
Identify, develop and manage business relationships with strategic accounts. Develop process, strategy, and skills to improve sales productivity. Demonstrate strategic leadership by example, particularly in the area of sales production. Success in sales production will be evaluated based on revenue volume, margin and account growth. Develop, manage, and monitor business plans for progress towards company, team and individual goals in revenue volume, margin and account growth. Mentor team to maximize the results from sales plans. Foster strategic alliances externally with supplier community. Demonstrate ability to develop value-add solutions, service programs and other differentiators to help establish Comstar as the partner of choice with strategic accounts. Influence, inspire and excite others, both internally and externally, as an enthusiastic and charismatic leader. Among other ways, this is accomplished by highlighting Comstar’s key differentiators including our top-notch employees and unique company culture. Report statistics and other requested information internally to the SVP of Sales and other executives on the successes and areas of improvements related to strategic accounts.
Coaching & Leading:
Embody a strategic resource for the national account sales team by partnering with them on daily concerns, big-picture goals, ongoing communication and performance reviews. Ensure sales plans are constructed and executed in a manner that supports company sales and revenue goals for all team members. Ensure that all members of the strategic account sales team are consistently operating at maximum capacity by training, mentoring and evaluating successful sales techniques. Such evaluation may be accomplished through regular meetings or by accompanying during travel. Assist ‘opening doors’ and sharing access to higher-level contacts on target accounts. Provide strategic vision to sales operations so that programs and services can be properly designed and implemented. Collaborate with Inside Sales Manager so that the right support from customer service is maintained.
Account Sales:
Represent and sell all the company’s products and services to targeted customers on a national level and those specific markets which require dedicated resources. Develop and execute a sales plan for all potential and current customers. Employ ‘solution selling’ including but not limited to: Identifying customer needs Recommending relevant product and/or service solutions Partnering with suppliers critical to overall strategy Partner with Inside Sales Representatives to exceed revenue targets, meet margin expectations, and most importantly, to ensure superior service. Manage and grow all customer accounts through sales, service and relationship-building. Responsible for customer onboarding and retention efforts in support of generating sales revenue. Responsible for maintaining and capturing leads, sales activities and other relevant customer information into the customer relationship management system (CRM). Utilize month-to-month forecasting tools that are integrated in CRM Assist in the collection of company receivables from assigned customers. Build a collaborative relationship with supplier partners to drive revenue and margins and key accounts. Maintain contact with the company (including direct team members, inside sales support, Sales Operations, Product Management, Senior Management, etc.) via telephone, email or other agreed upon means of communication with reasonable frequency to discuss sales activity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of Telecommunications industry sales experience strongly preferred. 3+ years of management experience required. Existing telecom industry contacts, including territory customer contacts, required. Bachelor’s degree in management, Communications, Marketing, or Business desired. Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications including CRM. Possess a strong understanding of inventory levels and sales trends to improve forecasting. Channel Sales Experience. Knowledge of the products used in fiber optic cable network construction. Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Presentation and negotiation skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional personal presentation. Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of staff throughout the organization. Highly energetic and self-starter. Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills. Thrives in a true team environment.
