The Charlotte Checkers are seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Corporate Partnerships to lead the strategy, sales, and execution of all sponsorship and partnership initiatives. This role is responsible for driving new business, managing existing accounts, and maximizing revenue across all corporate assets. In addition to representing the Charlotte Checkers, the selected candidate will also be responsible for generating corporate revenue across Zawyer Sports’ portfolio of properties in the Charlotte region. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple brands and industries, all while playing a key role in shaping the future of sports and entertainment in the Carolinas.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively sell integrated sponsorship packages and products to new and existing clients with an emphasis on long-term partnerships.
Identify, develop, and prospect new business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners to ensure satisfaction and renewal.
Lead the creation and presentation of customized partnership proposals and facilitate contract negotiations.
Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing, creative services, and game operations, to deliver partnership assets and activations.
Create and implement new sponsorship programs and inventory to diversify revenue streams.
Develop ROI and proof-of-performance reports for partners.
Manage and mentor junior staff, promoting best practices in partnership sales and service.
Oversee all game-day partnership activations and ensure timely delivery of contractual assets.
Play a key role in maintaining and updating the corporate rate card.
Work in tandem with the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and the Director of Corporate Servicing to ensure smooth execution of all deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or a related field — preferably in professional or collegiate sports.
Demonstrated ability to generate new business and close high-value, multi-year deals.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and accounts in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
