The Sales Development Manager is responsible for mentoring and developing branch managers in market-focused sales strategies and tactics focused on driving deposit and loan growth. This role serves as an extension of the Retail leadership team, providing expertise and guidance on business development, customer engagement strategies, and targeted sales initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Build partnerships with commercial, mortgage, and other market partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration Partner with leadership and corporate sales team to develop and implement sales initiatives that drive deposit and loan growth With retail and cross line of business leadership, identify market opportunities and assist branch leaders in creating targeted outreach strategies Provide coaching for coaches to improve associate effective sales conversations, deepening of customer relationships, consistent business development activities, advanced product sales, and enhanced referral activity Collaborate with branch managers to assess business potential, analyze trends, and recommend strategies to improve performance Conduct joint calls and actively engage in local market events and activities to grow the business Serve as a trusted advisor to branch managers, equipping them with tools and best practices to enhance sales effectiveness Support the integration of sales model principles into daily activities, ensuring consistency in customer interactions Facilitate peer-learning opportunities by sharing success stories and best practices across the retail network Lead workshops and group coaching sessions Partner with Retail leadership to support branch managers in executing sales strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and desired performance outcomes Work in collaboration by providing insights, recommendations, and coaching Identify and promote best practices with leadership and corporate sales Work closely with marketing, product, and training teams to ensure branch managers have the necessary resources to execute sales strategies Support leadership in identifying areas of opportunity and tracking progress on key sales initiatives Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to help branches identify growth opportunities Assist in analyzing branch sales performance and market conditions to refine strategies Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences to support the continuous evolution of sales initiatives

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, equivalent field or equivalent work experience preferred Experience in retail banking and/or branch management Experience in sales coaching and mentoring
