SUMMARY:

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving catering sales, cultivating strong client relationships, and ensuring the seamless planning and execution of exceptional events all while embodying “The Pinehurst Way.: The role demands a commitment to gracious hospitality, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding service that reflects Pinehurst Resort’s esteemed legacy. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Engagement & Relationship Management (The Pinehurst Way)
Serve as a trusted advisor, delivering warm, genuine, and anticipatory service at every client interaction.
Build and nurture long-term relationships by understanding client needs and delivering personalized solutions.
Ensure a seamless, stress-free experience for clients from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
Uphold Pinehurst’s legacy of excellence through professionalism, attentiveness, and unwavering client focus.
Sales & Business Development
Proactively identify and secure new catering business through networking, community involvement, and leveraging Pinehurst’s brand reputation.
Develop compelling proposals that highlight Pinehurst’s premier venues, exceptional cuisine, and unparalleled service.
Use storytelling and Pinehurst’s rich history to enhance the sales process, forging emotional connections with clients.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted social media campaigns and promotions.
Maintain a focus on achieving and exceeding sales goals, contributing to the resort’s financial success.
Event Planning & Coordination
Guide clients through the planning process with expertise, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Work closely with culinary, banquet, and operations teams to deliver seamless, high-quality events.
Conduct site tours and tastings, showcasing Pinehurst’s facilities, cuisine, and service excellence.
Ensure all event elements align with “The Pinehurst Way” creating unforgettable experiences rooted in tradition and hospitality.
Contract & Revenue Management
Develop contracts and pricing packages that balance client budgets with revenue goals.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation for all bookings, payments, and event details within the resort’s Sales & Catering systems.
Analyze sales performance data to provide leadership with insights for optimizing business development strategies. 5. Administrative & Operational Support Coordinate internal communication to ensure all departments deliver on client expectations.
Provide on-site support during key events, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Handle administrative tasks with precision, professionalism, and timeliness.
Perform additional duties as needed to support operational goals and business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience in catering sales, event planning, or hospitality management, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients.
Proficiency in sales software, CRM systems, and event planning tools.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
