Reporting to the , the sales manager will be responsible for generating sales based off the products and services offered, generating business for the company. The sales manager will work closely with various individuals that comprise the installation, administration and service team while assuring orderly and consistent contact with current and prospective customers. Essential Job Responsibilities Plan, develop, coordinate and control all outside sales activities to produce targeted sales and profit goals. To make known all policies and procedures to be followed by all personnel with responsibility for sales regardless of department assigned. Contact enough potential customers to achieve the volume of sales needed to meet the goals set for sales, market share and market segment. Develop and follow-through on RFQs from clients and/or the Internet and coordinate those with the estimator(s) and President, as needed. Service existing accounts and ensure those accounts are maintained. Gather pertinent economic and industry data to identify sales prospects and marketing opportunities. Keep informed on competitors’ selling policies, tactics, services and prices offered. Complete all paperwork required for sales documentation, including call reports and contact results, reporting activity to the President every week. Direct and/or participate in training seminars to demonstrate company products and services to individuals with sales/estimating/administrative responsibility, potential and current customers. Portray a positive professional appearance and serve as a role model for all personnel through the enthusiastic performance of all duties and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Together with the President, develop a “Market Strategy” and finalize a “Marketing Plan” to support it and is in conjunction with the company’s mission and purpose. Assist the President in the preparation of the annual budgets, regarding company sales objectives for revenue and selling expenses. Implement the approved budgets, monitoring their achievement and taking corrective action as necessary to meet company goals. Establish new customer accounts according to the company’s “Credit Policy” and ensure the follow through with collection on delinquent accounts when needed. Plan and direct the preparation of Internet marketing/ brochures and advertising to further the awareness of the market to the company and its products and services. Participate in the establishment of the competitive pricing of the company and provide individuals having sales responsibility with pricing guidelines. Seek new product lines and develop them into viable selling opportunities that serve the needs of the marketplace. Serve as a key member of the executive team and is required to participate in the regularly scheduled weekly meetings producing required reports and contributing to the overall management of the company. Ensure an economic balance exists between the efforts to generate sales and the financial results. Ensure that the performance of all employees within the responsibility of the Sales Manager position receives a performance valuation in conformance with policy and that a complete performance evaluation is on file, including a plan for improvement. Essential Requirements Minimum of 5-9 years of combined industry and sales experience Experience in the commercial hardware & hollow metal industry is required with a high degree of success in the development of increased profitable sales. A valid driver’s license Knowledge and expertise in commercial hardware and hollow metal requirements including: sales, marketing, specifications, fabrication, welding, estimating, pricing, and project management Must be able to perceive the needs of other businesses through conversational interaction and assist with translating those needs into reality, People oriented, with the ability to make others feel comfortable in your presence. Competence in planning and executing marketing/sales efforts to gain new business and an overall grasp on future the potential for our distribution markets. Strong knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures, sales/marketing techniques, equipment, products and trends, pricing and quoting systems and the customer’s potential business. Prudent, ethical, and credible and good judgement, as well as , committed to the company and its products, and can meet any type of person(s) with confidence.
