Director of Marketing and Community Development Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Community Development serves as a vital member of the leadership team, responsible for designing and executing strategic marketing initiatives and community engagement programs that reflect and advance Members First’s mission, vision, and values. This role plays a critical part in enhancing brand visibility, driving membership growth, and deepening community impact through innovative campaigns, strategic partnerships, and targeted outreach. Combining visionary leadership, marketing expertise, and a passion for community connection, this position is ideal for a dynamic professional who takes pride in their work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to making a meaningful difference within a community-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Execution Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to support organizational goals, including member acquisition and retention, product promotion, and brand positioning. Oversee digital marketing, social media, content creation, advertising, and public relations. Analyze market trends, member behavior, and competitive landscape to inform strategy. Manage marketing budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Community Development & Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, nonprofits, and local businesses. Lead the planning and execution of community events, sponsorships, and financial education initiatives. Represent the credit union at public events, forums, and community meetings. Develop programs that enhance the credit union’s visibility and reputation as a community-focused financial institution. Leadership & Collaboration Collaborate with internal departments to align marketing efforts with product development, member services, and strategic goals. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and campaign effectiveness to executive leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (Master’s preferred). 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in financial services or credit union industry preferred. Strong understanding of digital marketing, branding, and community outreach. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Passion for community development and financial empowerment.
