Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic market-savvy Hotel Assistant Director of Sales to join our amazing team at a competitive pay rate 90k/Yr plus an incentive plan of up to 50% of base pay through quarterly and annual incentives plus benefits (401k, PTO, Vacation, Holiday and Health Insurance) for Full-Time associates. The Assistant Director of Sales plays a pivotal role in the execution of the hotel’s sales strategy by supporting the Director of Sales & Marketing in leading the sales team, cultivating key accounts, and driving revenue growth across all market segments. This position focuses on maximizing room revenue, banquet and catering sales, and ancillary revenues while maintaining strong client relationships and upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Sales in developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve hotel revenue goals. Manage and grow assigned market segments (e.g., corporate, group, SMERF, government, association) to drive new and repeat business. Support the day-to-day activities of the sales team, including goal setting, coaching, and performance monitoring. Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, and client entertainment to build strong relationships and close business. Collaborate with Revenue Management to analyze performance data and adjust sales strategies accordingly. Participate in weekly revenue meetings and provide input on pricing, promotions, and sales opportunities. Assist in the preparation of annual sales budgets, forecasts, and marketing plans. Represent the hotel at industry trade shows, networking events, and community functions. Ensure CRM data and booking systems (Delphi/Salesforce/etc.) are accurately maintained. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to proactively identify opportunities and threats. Uphold brand standards and ensure all sales collateral and presentations reflect the hotel’s image and positioning. Act as the Director of Sales in their absence, ensuring leadership continuity and team support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive hotel sales experience; full-service hotel and supervisory experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of achieving sales goals and building long-term client relationships. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong understanding of revenue management principles and group business dynamics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel sales systems (Delphi, Opera, CI/TY, etc.). Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of state for sales calls or industry events. Flexible schedule including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
