Part-Time Sales Manager —
New York City Tap Location:
New York City Position Type:
Part-Time (20-25 hours/week)
Compensation:
$30,000-$50,000/year + 5-10% commission + equity ⸻
About Us:
New York City Tap is a bold new entrant in the beverage space—packaging legendary NYC tap water into ice-cold, infinitely recyclable cans. No gimmicks. No microplastics. Just pure, crisp water from one of the most celebrated municipal sources in the world—what many have called “the champagne of drinking waters.” We’re building a beverage brand that’s as iconic as the city it hails from. Our mission is to reimagine what “local” means in bottled water and to deliver it with edge, integrity, and cultural resonance.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Part-Time Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts across retail, hospitality, and specialty channels. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the early trajectory of a high-potential brand—and get in with equity upside. You’ll manage and expand our accounts across New York and beyond, working directly with the founding team to define and execute our go-to-market strategy. This role is approximately 20-25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Expect a roughly 60/40 split between in-person, on-the-ground fieldwork in NYC (meeting with buyers, store visits, events, sampling, etc.) and computer-based work (Lead creations, CRM entry, lead follow-up, internal communications).
Responsibilities:
- Identify, pitch, and close new B2B accounts (bars, cafés, delis, restaurants, boutique grocers, event venues, etc.)
- Maintain and grow existing relationships to increase volume and shelf presence
- Track leads, conversions, and performance metrics via CRM tools
- Coordinate sampling programs, in-store activations, and limited partnerships
- Help build the sales playbook and refine pricing/positioning strategy
- Collaborate with marketing to align brand voice and customer experience
- Represent NYC Tap at industry events, tastings, and pop-ups
You Are:
- A natural closer with 2-5 years of CPG, beverage, or hospitality sales experience
- Hungry, strategic, and self-motivated—you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Comfortable working independently while reporting back to a lean team
- Deeply familiar with NYC culture, neighborhoods, and how business gets done
- Not afraid of rejection, and persistent without being pushy
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited to build from the ground up
- Proficient with CRM platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Bowimi), Slack, Google Workspace, and general digital communication tools
- Able to track leads, report on metrics, and communicate clearly with remote team members using digital systems
Compensation:
Base Salary:
$30,000-$50,000/year (based on experience)
Commission:
5-10% on new account sales
Equity:
Early-stage equity available
