As an Area SalesManager (ASM) you will be responsible for leading, developing, andmanaging a diverse, high performing sales team to achieve salesgoals for promoted products within our psychiatry portfolio. Setand lead the development of area strategic direction and tacticalsales plans using robust analytical skills to identify strengthsand opportunities, while minimizing weaknesses and threats toexecute those plans and meet or exceed sales goals.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

- Achieves business objectives and salesresults by observing Account Manager interactions with targetcustomers, extended treatment team members, ancillary staff andproviding them with individual coaching, feedback and inspiration.
Helps Account Manager continue to develop for success in currentrole and for future growth.

- Leads by example andworks collaboratively across functional areas by serving as aresource and by leveraging the expertise of others.
- Recruits,develops, and retains diverse, high performing Account Managers toLundbeck. Knowing the Business
- Guides the identification of localmarket systems of care, patient flow, reimbursement, and providesinnovation solutions
- Identifies strategic relationships that arevaluable to the area’s business (e.g. KOLs, advocacy, P&Tcommittee, etc.)
- Actively seeks to discover and meet the needs ofinternal and external customers by building relationships anddelivering innovative solutions.
- Ensures that Account Managerscan accurately craft Managed Markets selling messages toeffectively position Lundbeck’s products within the context of theprovider’s setting and payer mix. Managing Execution
- Sets andmaintains competent product knowledge and selling skills standardswithin the team. Directs and monitors the execution of approvedmarketing plans and promotion campaigns. Evaluate and identifyimprovement and development opportunities of account managersthrough performance management process to include clear, timely,and actionable feedback on a regular basis.
- Facilitates localmarket execution by aligning the sales force and othercross-functional areas (to include alliance partners), persuading,convincing, or motivating a targeted audience through collaborationand direct or indirect influence.
- Analyzes sales reports anddevelops plan of action.
- Maintains timely communication withaccount managers, management and in-house personnel. Managesmultiple priorities and resources related to individual and groupefforts. Takes responsibility for redirecting efforts as needed todeliver high productivity and quality of work from self and others
- Assures adherence to all standards, policies, procedures andguidelines as set forth by the organization.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION,EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciencesdegree from an accredited college or university

ExternalCandidates:
Minimum of 3 years sales management experience inPharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical’s, Biologics or relatedexperience.
- Internal Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year ofCommercial experience in areas such as: Sales Management, Training,Market Access, Sales Operations, or Marketing or a minimum of 2years consistent sales success within Lundbeck
- Documented trackrecord of sales success and financial management.
- Demonstratedleadership with the ability to develop, train and provide feedbackto a group of account managers.
- Must possess superiorcommunication skills, both written and oral.
- Driving is anessential duty of this job; must have a valid driver’s license witha safe driving record that meets company requirements
- Meeting andcomplying with reasonable industry-standard credentialingrequirements of healthcare providers / customer facilities isrequired for continued employment with Lundbeck.
- Must live within100 miles of territory boundaries
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCEAND SKILLS
- Previous CNS sales management experience
- Experiencein calling on customers at a variety of call points, includingoffices, community mental health centers and hospitals
- Previoussales management experience and/or experience in other areas of thebusiness; i.e., marketing, sales training, managed care accountmanager, sales operations, account management is a plus.
- Previousexperience working with alliance partners (i.e. co-promotions)
- Previous experience partnering with Advocacy groups
- Previousexperience building and developing effective teams
- Experience inproduct launch or expansion within sales
TRAVEL:
- Willingness/Ability to travel up to 70% domestically to (a)regularly meet/interact with customer base and internal personnelwithin assigned territory; and (b) attend internal/externalconferences and meetings spanning locations within the UnitedStates.
Travel must be able to be completed in a timely manner. Therange displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role,may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’sgeographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, andproficiency for the role.
Salary Pay Range:
$170,000
- $195,000 andeligibility for a sales incentive target of $51,000, andeligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentiveplan.
