We specialize in delivering high-quality landscape maintenance and enhancement solutions for commercial clients. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Commercial Account Manager/Business Developer to drive growth at our Bluffton, SC branch. This role combines aggressive new business development with strategic account management to grow revenue, deepen client relationships, and represent O’Hara Outdoors’ commitment to excellence in everything we do. Responsibilities Own and drive new business development efforts through cold calling, networking, lead generation, and relationship building with property managers, HOAs, developers, and other commercial decision-makers. Actively build a strong sales pipeline and pursue new commercial maintenance and enhancement opportunities. Serve as the primary contact for assigned commercial accounts, ensuring service excellence and client satisfaction. Conduct regular site walk-throughs to assess property conditions, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure contract compliance. Develop and present customized proposals for landscape maintenance contracts, site improvements, enhancements, and seasonal programs. Manage and close the entire sales cycle — from prospecting and proposal to negotiation and signed agreements. Maintain accurate CRM data for prospects and clients, ensuring timely follow-up and pipeline transparency. Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews with key clients to secure renewals and identify expansion opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams, including production managers and landscape designers, to deliver solutions that align with client goals. Actively participate in local industry associations and networking groups to enhance brand presence and generate leads. Assist in developing marketing campaigns and strategies targeted to the Bluffton/Lowcountry market. Support collections efforts on assigned accounts as needed. Attend internal sales meetings, branch meetings, and leadership training sessions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Horticulture, or related field); equivalent industry sales experience accepted. 3+ years of proven success in B2B sales, account management, or landscape industry business development. Strong horticultural knowledge and familiarity with Bluffton/Lowcountry commercial market is a plus. Skilled in building relationships with property managers, developers, HOA boards, and commercial real estate professionals. Self-motivated “hunter” mentality with excellent prospecting and closing skills. Ability to create and deliver compelling client presentations. Strong organizational skills with consistent CRM usage and sales activity tracking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons, including snow response where necessary. Bilingual abilities a plus.
