POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal Sales Manager is a high energy, results-driven individual responsible for accelerating revenue growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies for our independent agency. This role will work closely with Agency Owners and Leadership Team to create and implement effective sales strategies, conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, and prepare accurate sales forecasts. The Sales Manager will analyze data to track existing team performance for both inside and outside sales against goals and adjust strategies as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
:
Education:
High School diploma required; Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must have active Property & Casualty license as required by South Carolina Department of Insurance; additional insurance designations are preferred.
Industry Experience:
Strong past/present experience with personal and commercial insurance with ability to provide valuable insights into market dynamics and customer needs. Independent agency experience preferred.
Sales and Market Experience:
Proven track record of 10 years in outside sales experience, with at least 5 years in insurance sales. Knowledge of and ability to evaluate insurance markets and provide direction to sales team.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
Relationship Management:
Ability to manage direct reports and maintain strong relationships with sales team, clients and Board of Directors. Conduct regular individual and team meetings.
Strategic Planning:
Ability to develop and execute specific sales strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive revenue growth.
Analytical Skills:
Proficiency in analyzing sales data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.
Software Skills:
Must be proficient in MS Office tools and insurance management systems; AMS360 experience preferred. Experience with sales software to track sales activities, manage customer relationships, and report on performance.
Team Collaboration:
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer service, to enhance sales efforts and customer experiences.
