Job Purpose:
The Sales Manager will lead, develop, and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth for Atlantic Forklift Services. This individual will manage a sales team across our territories, foster relationships with existing customers, generate new business, and ensure the successful delivery of products and services to our customers in the forklift sales and service industry. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with strong sales and management experience, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of the forklift industry. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of sales representatives to meet and exceed sales targets. Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for sales team members. Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives to drive growth in new and existing markets. Set clear sales goals, monitor performance, and take corrective action when necessary to ensure team success. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. Identify and address customer needs to ensure product and service offerings align with expectations. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely manner. Identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s customer base within the forklift sales and service market. Develop and present proposals, quotes, and presentations to potential clients. Negotiate contracts and terms with prospective clients to close deals. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adapt sales strategies. Track sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management. Forecast sales numbers and ensure accurate data entry into the company’s CRM system. Monitor KPIs and sales metrics to ensure goals are being met. Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with the operations, accounting, and service teams to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction. Provide insights into customer preferences and market needs to assist in product development. Conduct onsite visits a minimum of 2 times per week in the field with account managers. Work directly with Bobcat regional manager and other suppliers for training, market awareness and specific sales opportunities Set discount rates and determine price schedules and margins in relation to current rebate and lease incentive programs. Assist in managing new, used, and rental inventories. Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience. Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the forklift, material handling, or industrial equipment industry, with at least 2 years in a sales management role. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong experience with CRM software and sales reporting tools.
