Job Summary:

The Transportation Sales Manager at Ard Trucking Company is responsible for driving revenue growth through transportation service sales and fostering long-term partnerships with new and existing clients. This role will focus on developing and implementing strategies to expand Ard Trucking transportation services, optimize customer satisfaction, and lead a high-performance sales team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of logistics, and transportation solutions, with a proven track record of success in sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:

Create and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets for transportation services.

Business Development:

Identify, target, and develop new transportation business opportunities through networking, client outreach, and relationship building.

Client Relationship Management:

Cultivate and manage relationships with key clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction and identifying opportunities for expansion.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a sales team, setting clear goals, providing feedback, and fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.

Contract Negotiation:

Oversee the negotiation of contracts with clients, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with company goals.

Market Research:

Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies as needed.

Collaboration:

Work closely with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of transportation services.

Sales Reporting:

Monitor sales performance, create reports on key metrics, and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Customer Service Excellence:

Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication, problem-solving, and service quality improvements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on transportation or logistics services. Proven experience in logistics, transportation sales, or freight forwarding. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing sales teams. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships. Analytical mindset with the ability to create and present data-driven sales strategies. Familiarity with McLeod Trucking System and other relevant software. Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events. Reliable Transportation-A MUST!!

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the areas of Dry Van, Pneumatic Tankers, Drayage Containers and Flatbed hauling is desired. Must have proficient knowledge in all streams of transportation sales.
