Full Job Description Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the successful solicitation and booking of catering events. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales & Marketing:
Actively solicit new business through proactive sales calls, site visits, industry networking, and targeted marketing campaigns. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the local market, including corporate clients, event planners, and social organizations. Develop and execute creative sales strategies to increase market share and achieve revenue goals. Prepare and present compelling proposals, contracts, and presentations to prospective clients. Conduct site inspections and menu tastings with clients. Negotiate and close contracts with clients, ensuring profitability and maximizing revenue.
Event Planning & Execution:
Work closely with the culinary team to develop customized menus and pricing for each event. Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including room setups, staffing, and equipment rentals. Oversee event execution, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. Manage and resolve any client concerns or issues that may arise during the event. Conduct post-event follow-up with clients to gather feedback and build long-term relationships.
Administrative:
Maintain accurate records of all sales activity, including leads, proposals, contracts, and revenue. Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs). Utilize CRM software to manage customer relationships and track sales progress. Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive activity.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in catering sales or a related field.
Skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong negotiation and closing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Cvent). Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Passion for the hospitality industry.
