- An ability and desire to travel is required Amazon’s Economic Development Policy (EDP) team seeks a highly motivated individual with a strong background in project management to oversee and streamline our Program Management Operations (PMO) processes for investment projects.
The PMO role will support Amazon’s logistics network as well as Grocery, Prime Air, Amazon Air and other business units. The PMO role will internally engage centralized PMO, and other internal teams regarding project management, site conversion/retrofit opportunities, strategic initiatives and other inbound requests for EDP’s scope of services. This position is based in Nashville, TN.
The ideal candidate will develop and drive strategies to support Amazon investments for both existing operations and future expansions. Specifically, the EDP PMO role will provide an internal customer-facing centralized project management solution for best practices to drive project efficiency, quality of deliverables and manage EDP guidance back to internal business teams. The candidate will provide a stage-gate project process from intake, scoping, execution, post-go live support, completion tracking, and reporting. This role will be responsible for engaging with Amazon business units to understand goals and priorities and will coordinate with the EDP team on project execution. To be successful in this position, you must be inquisitive, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with Amazon EDP teams and internal Amazon logistics, Prime Air, Amazon Air, Grocery, and other business units including operations, topology, capacity planning, design engineering, real estate, legal, public policy, tax, construction, asset management and public relations to support project investments, business expansion plans, and related site requirements.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the PMO role’s scope and pillars to navigate ambiguous situations/requests and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to optimize EDP’s ability to engage on current and future site capabilities across our scope of services.
- Exercise strong judgment to determine the most suitable approach for each project, and engage the necessary stakeholders to identify and implement solutions.
- Support the site selection process, including due diligence, permitting and entitlements, and project approvals through PMO process improvements and project coordination.
- Lead engaging and outcome-driven discussions and meetings to drive project efficiency and produce quality deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of intake processes.
- Thoroughly assess and validate all intake and project change requests, incorporating feedback from diverse stakeholder and customer groups.
- Build strong relationships and earn trust with internal stakeholders and customers through transparent communication and reliable execution.
