Exempt Job Summary:

As the Client Development Manager, you will be responsible for cultivating new relationships with prospective clients and will assist with maintaining strong relationships with current clients. You will work closely with shareholders, practice group leaders, and members of the marketing and business development team. Reporting to the Marketing and Business Development Director (MBDD), you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, identifying opportunities for business expansion, and enhancing overall client satisfaction. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of the legal landscape. Some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

New business development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities. Assist with developing and nurturing leads, and conduct meetings and presentations to help secure new clients.

Sales pipeline management:

Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to closure, tracking prospects, opportunities, and deals in CRM systems. Monitor key performance metrics, analyze sales data, and provide regular reports to management.

Market analysis and competitive intelligence:

Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments. Conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for differentiation.

Cross-selling and up-selling:

Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships by promoting additional practices or legal services within the firm. Collaborate with internal teams to leverage existing relationships and drive organic revenue growth. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align client development efforts with company goals and objectives. Coordinate efforts to deliver integrated solutions and exceptional customer experiences.

Client communication and engagement:

(as directed) Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients by understanding their needs, challenges, and goals. Communicate regularly with internal and external clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any issues or concerns. Proactively engage clients through various channels, including phone calls, emails, meetings, and events.

Continuous learning and development:

Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving customer preferences. Seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.

Compliance and ethical standards:

Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all client interactions and business activities. Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive client information.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Experience in client development, sales, or business development within the legal industry preferred. Understanding of legal services and familiarity with key practice areas and market dynamics preferred. Proven track record of successfully developing and managing client relationships and driving revenue growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate client needs into actionable strategies. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools.
