Responsible for achieving budgeted sales with the corporation’s largest and most sophisticated clients. Focus may be single or multi-client. Executes account sales plans in conjunction with subordinated sales positions.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE

Under the general direction of the General Manager, this position collaborates with executives and management to execute the business development strategy. Provides leadership and coordination of company business development functions. Monitor and analyze business development activities against goals. Develop new and ongoing business with targeted retail and restaurant accounts. This is a hands-on sales executive role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct and coordinate company business development functions. Research and develop strategies and plans which identify business opportunities Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of business development, methods, costs and results. Participate in the development of new project proposals. Establish and implement short and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Represent the company at various business meetings/trade shows to promote the company. Manage the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs. Promote positive relations with partners, vendors and distributors. Prospecting, identifying and closing business with new customers. Achieve lead generation, prospecting and other sales management goals designed to build and optimal sales pipeline. Personally develop strong, long-term relationships with senior management at targeted accounts. Manage the end-to-end sales process for all opportunities including initial client communication, on-site presentations, and negotiation. Be the focal point for communication and sales activities with prospects and customers.

ADDITIONAL SALES SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide cost estimates for all new programs based on customer inputs regarding scope of project. Support other members of the sales team when more detailed operating discussions are required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning and implementing marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Demonstrates experience in obtaining and audience, presenting and closing sales in a professional manner to senior executives. Understands how to convey the value proposition effectively to prospective customers. Proven ability to uncover customer needs and determine appropriate solutions. Evaluates and interprets the customer decision making process. Uses 80/20 principles to prioritize target customers. Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, up to 50% travel within the U.S. Capable of delivering profitable revenue growth with new self-generated clients.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

College degree in related field and/or MBA preferred. Minimum ten years in a sales leadership role and selling into major retailers and/or restaurants.
