This role is essential in growing market share and developing brand-new television and digital business opportunities. The LSM will recruit, coach, and lead a high-performing team of Account Executives and Account Managers while collaborating closely with internal departments to meet and exceed revenue goals. This role calls for a strategic leader who is passionate about performance management, has a sharp eye for opportunity, and can execute with urgency—all while enjoying life in a vibrant, culturally rich city. Responsibilities:
Recruit, retain, and train top sales and support talent to sell broadcast and TEGNA’s expansive digital product portfolio.
Lead and develop a team of Account Executives and Account Managers, including some dotted-line reports.
Support staff through ride-along coaching, client meetings, proposal development, and guidance across the full sales cycle.
Drive lead generation, qualification, and sales strategy to maximize local TV and digital revenue.
Analyze and grow client accounts through innovative marketing solutions and strong local partnerships.
Monitor and evaluate account performance and market share, adjusting as needed.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and goal-oriented sales culture.
Collaborate with other department heads to deliver on overall station strategy.
Requirements:
5-7 years of successful broadcast TV sales and account management experience.
Digital sales expertise is highly preferred.
3-5 years of sales team leadership and management experience.
Proven success meeting or exceeding sales goals in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Wide Orbit Sales, Salesforce, Media Monitors, Comscore, Matrix, and more.
Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
