JOB DETAILS Halifax Hospitality is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Director of Sales to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to generate and increase revenues and occupancy rates for our hotels.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and occupancy rates
Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets
Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities
Develop and maintain a sales pipeline to ensure consistent business growth
Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
Prepare and present sales reports to senior management
Complete all required brand and hospitality leadership training
Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standards
Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate
Respond to sales inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
Initiate new sales, prospects and qualified leads
Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts
Conduct property site tours with the intent of promoting hotel facilities and services
Determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, create event orders, set up billing statements, service accounts and analyze business
Conduct outside sales calls, sales blitzes and other necessary sales activities.
Works closely with the Area Director of Revenue Management and General Manager to implement any necessary sales programs and initiatives.
Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts

Sales experience is required, Marriott and Hilton experience preferred.
US Work Authorization – Required
Hospitality – 5 year (Preferred)
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Must have a valid driver’s license for applicable state.
Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince and sell to customers as well as influence and work closely with managerial personnel and hotel guests.
Must be able to work independently while simultaneously manage multiple tasks, have strong organization and presentation skills.
Experience:
At least 1 year hotel sales or front desk experience is preferred. Experience with Marriott and/or Hilton systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
Can perform work for 8 hours at a time and work in a restrictive space/environment
Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours.
