Cashier/Clerical Dawes Hardware Mobile, AL 36695 Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented and organized Clerical Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks that support our daily operations . This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining records, price changes, and creating merchandise tags. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Assist customers with inquiries over the phone and in-person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems for processing sales and managing inventory. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations. Support sales efforts by upselling products and services when appropriate. Supervise other staff as needed, providing guidance and support in their tasks. Apply basic math skills for daily transactions and retail math calculations. Skills Proficiency in basic math and retail math concepts. Strong phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Experience with POS systems is preferred but not required. Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly. Sales experience with a focus on upselling techniques is a plus. Supervisory skills to manage small teams or assist in training new employees. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
