Duties Operate the cash register, processing customer transactions quickly and accurately. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Assist in upselling products and promoting special offers to enhance the shopping experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers. Perform basic math calculations for transactions and returns, ensuring accuracy in all financial exchanges. Conduct product demonstrations as needed to inform customers about new items or promotions. Supervise junior staff members during peak hours to ensure efficient operations. Skills Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members. Proficiency in cash register operation and cash handling procedures. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math applications. Experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required. Ability to upsell products and promote store offerings effectively.
