Thomaston, CT Position Overview:

As a Cashier you will be responsible for handling customer transactions, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases with cash, credit/debit cards or other payment methods Ensuring correct change is provided if it is a cash transaction Counting and reconciling cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift Stay informed about products, prices and promotions to effectively assist customers and promote sales Promoting store loyalty programs, discounts and or special promotions to encourage customer participation Efficiently bag and package customer purchase, ensuring items are handled with care Offering assistance to customers with carrying their bags or locating carts Resolve customer concerns or issues related to the transaction with a positive and helpful attitude Adhering to security measures such as checking identification for age restricted purchase and monitoring for fraudulent activity Adhere to all company safety standards Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Schedule:

Weekday and Weekend hours as assigned

Experience:
Preferred:

Zero – One (0-1) year retail experience or relevant experience

Skills:

Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc Strong communication

Skills:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis

Organizational Skills:

Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality

Quality:

Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives

Safety Culture:

Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift.
