Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Commissary Clerk to join our team at a custodial center. In this role, you will be essential in managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring the smooth operation of the commissary.

Responsibilities:

Receive, unload, and inspect incoming commissary goods and supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records through a computerized system, performing regular stock counts and reconciliations. Process and fulfill staff commissary orders, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution. Distribute orders to staff members on a scheduled basis. Manage returns, exchanges, and damaged goods according to established procedures. Operate cash registers and handle transactions, ensuring all sales are recorded properly. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure commissary storage area. Adhere to all security protocols, policies, and procedures of the facility. Report any discrepancies, security concerns, or issues to a supervisor. Assist with other duties as assigned to support the commissary’s operations.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in retail, commissary operations, or a similar role. Must be at least 18 years of age. Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check. Ability to pass a medical assessment and drug screening. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
