HOUR POSITION PURPOSE
The Visitor Services Assistant will assist guests at the admissions counter and in the Museum Store. As one of the first people guests see upon entering the Museum, it is their job to make all guests feel welcome and answer any questions they may have.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions Present a friendly, positive, and professional image as a Museum Ambassador. Process cash and credit card payments for admission and store purchases through the Museum’s digital software. Effectively communicate Museum policies to guests. Answer guest questions about all aspects of the Museum, from exhibits to programs, and special events. Anticipate guest needs and solve guest issues with a positive, courteous, and professional attitude. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, mutual respect, and teamwork within the Museum. Operational Support Attend department meetings and daily all-staff morning meetings. Perform core operational functions of guest safety. Assist during emergency and evacuation situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualities Strong customer service skills. Detail oriented. Comfortable with technology and learning new technologies, specifically point-of-sale systems. Comfortable handling cash and processing payments. Ability to successfully multitask. Strong autonomous work ethic and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Dependable, adaptable, and flexible. Proficient in the MS Office Suite. Ability to lift and move 20 pounds and stand for 4-5 hours at a time. Preferred Experience 1 year of customer service experience.
