Part Time Required Schedule:
Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 8:45 am to 5:15 pm (24 total hours per week) The Thrift Store Cashier/Online Merchandiser will be responsible for supporting the HEP Thrift Store by providing each guest with excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience. This position will also be responsible for assisting the Thrift Store Manager with research, accurate product details, inventory, and website merchandising to drive sales. This is a dual-role position ideal for someone who is organized, digitally proficient, and comfortable working both front-of-house and behind the scenes.
PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet all store customers and assist with any needs or concerns
- Always provide excellent customer service in a professional manner
- Process sales transactions accurately and follow all cash-handling procedures
- Follow standard operating procedures of the store as well as HEP protocols
- Sort through donations and organize sections or racks for store purchases
- Help to keep the Thrift Store clean and safe for all parties
- Assist customers with locating merchandise in the store and the checkout process
- Support loss prevention and follow company procedures to prevent theft or fraud
- Assist with uploading products online, including writing descriptions and uploading images
- Monitor online inventory to ensure accuracy and timely removal of sold items
- Help manage promotions online and Comply with all required OSHA standards and practices
- Complete all tasks and deadlines as assigned by the Thrift Store Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Retail, cashiering, or digital advertising experience preferred
- Superior customer services skills a
- Sensitivity to the cultural diversity of clients to successfully work with diverse racial, ethnic, and economic groups
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Easily adapt to change
- Work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior experience researching and selling merchandise online
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Up to 100% of the shift requires standing and extensive periods of time on your feet
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, twisting, etc.
- Walking and standing on uneven surfaces while on campus
- May include weekend hours (Saturday)
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with ease; Anything over 35 pounds requires a team lift
