The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while handling transactions accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills and a basic understanding of retail math, as well as the ability to upsell products and maintain a well-stocked checkout area. Communicate effectively with customers to provide assistance and answer inquiries. Utilize basic math skills to handle cash, credit, and debit transactions. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products or services. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring it is well-stocked with necessary supplies. Assist in supervising junior staff members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations. Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, providing information as needed. Support inventory management by restocking shelves and assisting in inventory counts when required. Requirements Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members. Basic math proficiency, including retail math skills for accurate transaction processing. Experience with POS systems is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided. Ability to engage in upselling techniques while maintaining a positive customer experience. Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is advantageous but not required. A proactive attitude towards stocking shelves and maintaining an organized workspace. Ability to supervise and assist other staff members when necessary.
