The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all transactions are handled accurately and efficiently. This role is essential in creating a positive experience for our customers while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the counter area. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders, ensuring a friendly atmosphere. Accurately process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including cash handling and credit card processing. Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, adhering to health and safety standards. Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders. Monitor inventory levels at the counter and communicate needs to management as necessary. Exhibit strong time management skills to handle peak hours effectively while maintaining quality service. Experience Previous experience in a restaurant or grocery store setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing. Experience with POS systems is an advantage, as it will facilitate smoother operations at the counter. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment are essential. A proactive approach to upselling and sales techniques will be beneficial in enhancing customer engagement. Knowledge of kitchen operations or food safety practices is a plus, contributing to overall efficiency in service delivery.
