You will serve as the final point of contact during the guest’s visit to the Winery, ensuring every interaction is welcoming, efficient, and reflective of the Biltmore legacy of excellence. This role combines a focus on accurate point-of-sale (POS) transactions and retail operations with a genuine passion for guest service.

Reserve:

A flexible, on-call position scheduled based on business needs and operational volume. Reserve employees typically work anywhere from 40-999 hours per year, depending on demand. Weekend and evening availability are required for this role. Essential Job Duties 1. Provide outstanding, friendly service while engaging with guests during checkout experiences at the Winery. 2. Accurately and efficiently operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for purchases including wine, merchandise, and specialty food items. 3. Share product knowledge about Biltmore wines and merchandise, including seasonal offerings and promotions, with guests at checkout. 4. Promote Wine Club to all guests at checkout. 5. Maintain an organized and visually appealing register area, keeping displays well-stocked and clean. 6. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including reconciliation and inventory restocking. 7. Support special events, peak seasons, and promotional activities as needed. 8. Adhere to all North Carolina’s ABC laws and all ABC Commission regulations. 9. Employee must be aware of safety issues and follow all internal safety procedures. Qualifications 1. High School Diploma or GED 2. Previous retail and/or customer service experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of prior cashiering, retail, or guest service experience in an upscale/luxury setting. 3. Exceptional guest relations and verbal communication skills. 4. Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sale (POS) system. Previous experience with cash handling is helpful. 5. Demonstrated commitment to providing world-class guest service. 6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest service environment as part of a team. 7. Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative where appropriate. 8. Must be 18 years or older. Physical Requirements 1. Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. 2. Requires walking/standing for extended periods of time. 3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. 4. The employee may work indoors or outside with fluctuations in temperature and conditions. 5. High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
