Accounting Technician/Cashier 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 2100 Silas Creek Pky, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 The Part-time Accounting Technician/Cashier will receive cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services, evaluate/process tuition refunds, monthly reports and maintain records for various third party charges. The position hours will require a flexible schedule, as it may involve day and evening hours. The salary is $15.00 per hour, based on experience and academic credentials.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience to fulfill essential duties.
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . Two years’ or more of related experience in cashiering and bookkeeping and/or accounting and/or training. Working knowledge of computer applications. Good communication, customer service and office skills.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
Working Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague. Ability to speak and understand both Spanish and English. Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform daily cashiering duties during operating hours for Financial Services including the maintenance of student accounts. Run daily cashier’s report for Accounts Receivable and compare totals to ensure they balance. Process returned checks through accounts receivable system. Distribute checks to financial students, faculty and staff when needed. Verify and account for registration and payment information, maintain contact with appropriate departmental staff, and verify general ledger codes to insure accurate posting to correct accounts. Process monies received from other departments as deposits. Assist students with Nelnet payment plan. Update student information and reorder cards for students on the BankMobile website.
