Summary:

Performs professional level accounting and business functions. Incumbents work under the general direction of an administrative supervisor, independently handling a wide variety of accounting support activities. This position is responsible for the handling, balancing, and deposit funds, generated from providing UNC Healthcare services, complying with UNCHCS corporate policies, departmental policies, HIPAA and regulatory agency guidelines. 1. Analyzes and interprets data, reports, etc. and makes recommendations based upon results of analysis. Formats reports in tables for the purpose of explaining and supporting financial standings or operational decisions. 2. Communicates and interprets results of data analysis and/or makes recommendations to other UNCHCS staff. 3. Maintains and reviews various databases of financial information as received from various sources throughout the Health Care System. Analyzes and ensures integrity of data.

Responsibilities:

1.May provide daily operational or processing guidance to employees in other clinics/practices when necessary. 2.Prepares funds for bank deposit and makes deposit. 3.Processes payments, refunds, deposits, and check requests. Issues receipts. 4.Provides back-end reconciliation of transactions completed, making sure all funds received balance with receipts issued. 5.Manges a group within the MySupport system to assist Epic users. 6.Provides training to new practice locations 7.Records transactions on appropriate account record. Ensures that all information required by regulatory agencies and billing entities is properly recorded on all documents and is processed in accordance with UNCHCS protocols Please note: •This position will require that someone is flexible and able to work in Chapel Hill or Raleigh with little notice.
