Front of the house–Cashier/ Kitchen helper Unmei 一心本緣 Astoria, NY 11106 • Hybrid work Job Overview Unmei is looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working individual to join our team as a Cashier / Kitchen Helper. This hybrid role supports both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring smooth customer service and kitchen flow. Ideal candidates are adaptable, team-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced food environment.

Cashier Duties:

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service. Take and process orders accurately using the POS system. Handle cash, credit, and digital payments responsibly. Answer customer questions about the menu and make recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter and dining area.

Kitchen Helper Duties:

Assist with basic food prep such as chopping, portioning, and assembling orders. Support dumpling preparation and cooking when needed. Wash dishes and kitchen equipment. Keep kitchen areas clean, stocked, and organized. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or kitchen work is a plus—but not required. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Friendly, positive attitude and team spirit.
