The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to enhance the shopping experience for our customers. Duties Operate cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems to process transactions. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately while ensuring compliance with store policies. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing assistance and answering questions as needed. Promote sales through upselling techniques and informing customers about current promotions. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Assist in training new cashiers on register operations and customer service standards. Perform basic retail math calculations to provide accurate change and manage cash drawers. Experience Prior experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
