Job Description
Local Storyteller Wanted – 12-Part Community Series ($1,200 Contract) White Fox Cleaning Services LLC Hickory, NC 28601 The Project White Fox Cleaning is hiring a contract-based Local Storyteller to help us spotlight the unsung heroes of Hickory — the people who make a quiet difference through service, kindness, and dedication. Your job is to find these individuals, interview them in person, and capture a few natural photos . We’ll handle the writing — you just help us get to the heart of the story.
Contract Scope & Payment Deliverables:
12 complete story packages
Flat Fee:
$1,200 total
Payment Schedule:
$400 upfront $400 after delivery of 6 stories $400 after final 12 are delivered
Timeline:
Flexible, but we expect 2-4 interviews per month over a 3-6 month period.
Each Story Package Includes:
1 in-person interview (10-30 mins) with an unsung local hero 3-5 natural, well-lit photos (portrait, candid, and contextual) Audio recording of the full interview (smartphone app is fine) Signed media release form (we provide it) Who This Is Perfect For You’re naturally warm, curious, and love listening to people’s stories You’re comfortable reaching out to strangers and putting them at ease You have a working smartphone for audio and photo capture You’re reliable with scheduling, follow-through, and file uploads You care about your community and want to help others get the spotlight they deserve
You Don’t Need:
A journalism degree Fancy gear or professional photo skills Writing experience — we’ve got that covered
